The rights of creators are important to me! I always try to use original sources and credit them when possible. (BTW that photo above is from the book Flatbvsh Past and Present and is of the girls’ art studio at Erasmus High School, circa 1900.) All the photos on the site are owned by their creators.

We’re fortunate that so many old photographs of Flatbush exist, but in order to share them on this site and its accompanying Instagram page, some institutions require licensing fees, even though I make no $$ from this thing—and that’s OK, because they gotta pay the bills too. Help me purchase the rights from organizations like the Brooklyn Historical Society and Getty Images to use photos and even old video clips like these and these to accompany the articles on the site and to share them on social media. The easiest way to help me purchase the usage rights to these digital assets is to donate to my PayPal or Venmo (@jenboudinot)—just mention Flatbush and let me know your social media handle if you’d like a shout-out when I post!
